Bring Out The Fine Crystal!

photo 2 To say that we are just a little bit excited about the new frames we get in our optical is quite the understatement!  We especially love the new trend in eyewear that has blown up our shelves:  translucents, or crystals!  The hottest trend in eyewear this season are crystal plastic frames that allow light to pass through the frame itself.   We love translucent frames for their organic nature, the color, and the fun they bring to the world of glasses!

Translucents are popular because they are organic.  Each room and each setting has different lighting and light will behave differently from every angle.  When you have a translucent frame, the effect is slightly different in each new environment.  The frame and how it complements your skin tones and complexion will look slightly different in early morning compared to bright midday hours, to even an indoor office environment.

photo 1Transclucents work great with color.  While there are many crystal frames designed in neutrals like clear tones, brown tones, and grays, crystal frames can play with color in a unique way that is very appealing to many patients.  A patient could choose a turquoise frame in a crystal/translucent style that gives some color, but it is slightly toned down compared to a typical, solid plastic frame.  The tone of your skin behind the translucent frame helps tone down the intensity of the color, yet still bring that brightness to your face that we all love.  Eyewear designers are also playing with putting a lot of pinks, greens, and blues in crystal glasses.  These colors help play up the green eyes, blue eyes, and rosy complexions!

Translucents are fun!  We believe that your glasses should not be purely functional.  If you don’t love your glasses, you won’t ever want to wear them!  photo 3With the great designs that our frame lines provide, you don’t have to sacrifice style for functionality at all!  Translucent frames allow you to have a little fun with your glasses without being too “out there”.  There are also a ton of frames that mix crystal plastic effects with opaque, more traditional frames.
Stop by our Castle Pines optical and see how we’ve brought out the fine crystal for our fabulous patients.  We are getting new frames in daily from our frame lines and we would love to show you!
